Detail
Introduction
Calcein AM can crosses living cell membranes easily. After crossing, it is hydrolyzed by esterase in the cytoplasm to obtain Calcein, which has fluorescent properties and has a highly polar carboxylic acid group, can not penetrate the cell membrane, and remain in the cytoplasm. By measuring Its relative fluorescence intensity, one can calculate the cell viability.
