Introduction
The cyanine dye, Dil (Cas No. 41085-99-8), is widely used in neuronal cells and tissue tracers. Dil is not toxic to cells, and has no obvious effect on the cell behavior. It can be used as a fluorescent dye for long-term cell observation. After four weeks of cell culture, the staining effect is still visible; in vivo, it can even be maintained for about one year.
