Introduction
Traditionally, EtBr (Cas#1239-45-8) is used to label nucleic acids, but this dye is highly toxic and can easily cause DNA mutations. The safe dye, Sybr Safe, has been proven to be less toxic than EtBr and less likely to cause DNA mutations. Gel Safe (CAS#1030826-36-8) is the equivalent of Sybr Safe. It is completely developed and synthesized by ourself, and compared with foreign manufacturers' counterparts, and the results are the same when used for DNA staining in agarose gel.
Physical and chemical properties
Appearance: Red powder.
Solubility: soluble in water ; soluble in DMSO
Fluorescence properties: DNA complex, λ ex = 509 nm, λ em = 524 nm.
