Introduction

As shown in Figure 1 on the left, in an alkaline environment, proteins bind to copper ions and reduce them to cuprous ions. Quinoline carboxylate ion (BCA) forms a purple complex with cuprous ion. This complex produces an absorption peak at 562 nm in the absorption spectrum. Within the protein concentration range of 20-2000 μg/mL, the light absorption intensity has a linear relationship with the protein con. Proteins can be detected and quantified using this colorimetric method. If the volume of the protein sample is large (0.1 mL), a cuvette can be used for detection; if the volume is small (~10 μL), a 96-well plate can be used.

​Product Features

​As shown in Figure 2 on the left, for your convenience, this product includes high-purity bovine serum albumin (BSA) standards with the concentrations of 25, 50, 125, 250, 500, 1000, and 2000 μg/mL, respectively. The range of concentration covers the entire linear range for detection. These standards were prepared in large scale to minimize the errors (R square value > 0.99). You don't need to spend time for preparing the standard solution, please use the standard concentration solution directly.
